What's new in SportyPlus: September and October 2026

A family account for parents and children, one saved card for every club, sign-in with DUPR, competitions you can join round by round, and an in-app help assistant.

This is the first of our regular round-ups of what has changed in SportyPlus. It covers September and the first half of October: families get their own space in the app, paying got quicker, pickleball players can connect DUPR, and clubs can now run whole seasons of competitions instead of setting up each league by hand.

Everything below is live now on the web and in the SportyPlus app. If your app has not updated itself yet, update it from the App Store or Google Play.

For players and members

Save a card once and pay at any SportyPlus club

You can now save a card and use it at every club on SportyPlus, not just the one where you first entered it. Pay for a court in one tap, and change or remove the card any time under Connected accounts. If your bank asks you to confirm a payment, the app takes you through it.

On iPhone you can also pay for a booking you already have with Apple Pay.

Book for 2 or 4 players before you know who's coming

You no longer need everyone's name to book. Choose whether the booking is for two or four players and add the others later, when they confirm.

Help is one tap away

A help button now sits in the corner of the app. It opens an assistant that answers questions about using SportyPlus. If something is actually wrong, it takes you to a short form where you can report the problem to your club or to us, with screenshots or photos attached.

Results and scores that follow your sport

Padel and pickleball matches are no longer scored as if they were tennis. Results, live scores and league tables now use each sport's own rules, including draws where a sport allows them.

For parents and families

A family account for you and your children

My family in the app is where you add your children, edit their profiles, and see their coaching record, invoices and medical documents. You can book, buy and pay for them from your own account, so a child no longer needs their own email address or a shared login. Under-16s who sign up on their own now need a parent's approval first.

Clubs can add a child to a parent's account themselves, so siblings no longer need separate email addresses.

Our guide to managing junior members and parents explains how this works for clubs.

For pickleball players

Sign in with DUPR

DUPR is the rating system most pickleball players use. You can now sign in to SportyPlus with your DUPR account, and link your DUPR profile under Connected accounts. At clubs that use DUPR, results from pickleball leagues, americanos and mexicanos are sent to DUPR automatically, and a club can open a competition to DUPR+ members only. Read more in How to run a DUPR pickleball league.

For clubs

Run a season of competitions, not one league at a time

Clubs can now plan a competition once and let it repeat: a weekly americano, a monthly league, a season of tournaments. Each competition has a roster and a waiting list. Members say whether they are in for each round, and when a place frees up, everyone waiting is told at once and the first to take it gets it. Joining the waiting list is free; in a paid competition, the fee is paid when a place opens. Each competition can have its own public sign-up page with a closing date, a venue and a description. Americano formats now run from 4 to 24 players, and mexicano is new. Americano vs Mexicano explains the difference.

Leagues that book their own courts

A league can now plan its match evenings and book the courts for them, across your own venues or a partner club's. Clubs with more than one site can list their courts by location, and a league or tournament schedule can be printed as a PDF, by the club or by players in the app.

A Sporty Assistant inside the admin

Club staff can ask the Sporty Assistant to do things for them in plain language, in their own language, from any page of the admin. It shows what it is about to do and waits for you to confirm. Visitors to the SportyPlus website can now ask the same assistant product questions too. See what an AI assistant for a sports club should do.

Smaller improvements

  • Two-step verification and passkeys. Protect your account with an authenticator app, or sign in with a passkey instead of a password, under Security in your account.
  • Download your data. Members can download a copy of their data from the Privacy page of their account, and ask their club to correct it.
  • Safer passwords. Passwords known from public data breaches are no longer accepted.
  • Try the demo club. Anyone can try SportyPlus at a demo club with one tap on Try the demo club, without joining a real one.
  • Polish is now available in the app.
  • Recordings pick up where you left off, and you can share a link to an exact moment.
  • Club map: search the area you've moved to, or jump back to where you are.
  • Notifications: the app tells you when notifications are turned off, and logging out stops them reaching that phone.
  • Prices show in your club's currency and local format, and invoices show the amounts you were actually charged.
  • Phone numbers have a country code picker.
  • Shared doors and lights: a club that rents courts in another club's hall can use the host's door access and lighting for those courts.
  • Social posting: clubs can now post to Bluesky, and to other networks through Zapier.
  • Membership applications: clubs can approve or reject applicants, and assign a membership to a member directly.
  • Weather: the app shows the forecast when you book an outdoor court, with a warning when rain is likely. You can close it for good, and clubs can choose whether their members see it at all.
